Attach it as a document, not a photo, so the other side gets the real PDF.
Check the file name
Signed files end in “-signed”, so you won't send the unsigned copy by mistake.
Keep a copy
Save the signed PDF somewhere safe too — chats get cleared.
Saving a WhatsApp attachment
On iPhone, open the document in the chat, tap the share icon and choose “Save to Files”. On Android, the file is usually saved to your phone automatically — look in Downloads or in the WhatsApp Documents folder with your Files app.
Sending it back
In the chat, tap the attachment icon, choose Document and pick the signed PDF. Sending it as a document keeps it a sharp, readable PDF instead of a compressed image.
Is a PDF signed this way accepted?
For everyday documents — rental forms, permission slips, contracts between individuals, delivery notes — a signed PDF is widely accepted. If the other side needs a specific process, such as a certified digital signature, they'll tell you.
